Health Services
The Nursing Division continues its commitment to provide preventive health services to the community. These services are made possible through the combined efforts of the health department and state and local agencies and organizations. Most of these services are provided free of charge or for a reduced fee to the residents of Columbiana County.

Immunization Program: Immunizations are provided for infants, children, adolescents, and adults. The Immunization Action Plan grant through the Ohio Department of Health provides local education and quality assurance for immunization programs in the private sector.

Childhood Immunization Program
Tetanus Vaccines & Emergencies
Safely dispose of unwanted, unused or expired medicines (capsules, tablets, liquids, aerosols, creams/ointments)


Pediatric Specialty Clinics: Pediatric specialty clinics include neurological testing. This service is available for children birth through 21 years of age.

Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) Program: The BCMH Program provides medical assistance and services to handicapped children and children who may become handicapped without medical intervention.

Tuberculosis Skin Testing: TB testing is available for a minimal fee.


Communicable Disease and Perinatal Hepatitis B Surveillance: Communicable Disease Reports are maintained and case follow-up is conducted to prevent and control outbreaks and epidemics of disease. The Perinatal Hepatitis B Program ensures that newborns and household contacts of Hepatitis B positive pregnant women receive free vaccine and follow-up to assist in the elimination of this disease.
